Recently, UK-based Win Win Water announced the launch of its innovative bottled water solution, featuring a plant-based, fully biodegradable bottle. This breakthrough technology is designed to tackle the environmental challenges posed by traditional plastic bottles, while delivering natural alkaline electrolyte spring water to consumers—capable of decomposing in just 90 days.
According to the company, the new bottle—including its body, label, and cap—is made from Luminy® PLA (Polylactic Acid) supplied by TotalEnergies Corbion. The material is derived from sugarcane sourced in compliance with ethical farming and sustainable procurement standards, ensuring the product remains non-toxic.
Engineered specifically for rapid biodegradation, the bottle breaks down within 90 days in commercial composting facilities. As reported in 2012, the UK already had 271 licensed composting sites operating nationwide. Despite being compostable, the bottle retains exceptional durability for repeated reuse, meeting diverse consumer demands.
